Holidays in Montenegro

January 2 – Chicken Christmas (Day of St. Ignatius of Antioch) – on this day, the guest came in the first house, declared “chicken anointed one.” The owner puts it on the pillow so he was carrying eggs. Then give him the pumpkin and the guest breaks it so that the seeds scattered as it is possible further in all directions, that is, the Chicks were born in large numbers. Also on this day, each member of the family happiness throws into the fire a log or branch.

January 5 – Tutsindan (“Fat day”). This Orthodox holiday. Montenegro is famous for its religiosity, but because in this day it is strictly forbidden to punish children because the rest of the year they will misbehave. For the holiday table, slaughtered lamb or suckling pig.
