International festival of folk theatres and Amateur art JoyFest is a unique festival Playground in Ukraine. Each fall we collect folk theater groups, as well as young artists and photographers from different regions of Ukraine and around the world. The Festival of joy JoyFest performances, photo and art exhibitions, master classes.
The festival has an active social component – the organizers help to attend the screenings of festival performances orphans, the disabled, pensioners.

Carnival in Venice – this is one of the most anticipated events of the year for the inhabitants of this ancient city, and tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world. During the celebration serene and serene Venice is freed from any duties and prejudice, becoming one of the most free (in all respects) places on earth. But there is this celebration has its own history and traditions, which we describe in this publication.
The history of the Venetian carnival
The history of the carnival in Venice has its roots in the distant past – in Roman times. Harvested, the Romans at the time of the winter solstice hosted Grand annual festivals honoring the God Saturn (another name for carnival – the Saturnalia). Throughout the city was conducted funny celebrations, and their difference from other holidays was that one table could be located and the owners and their slaves. From carnival to the carnival
February was this year unusually eventful: Maslenitsa, matched to the same this time with Valentine’s Day, and now and carnivals. The carnival is nothing like carnival in the Western manner, but the word itself means “farewell, meat”. As well as Russian carnival, Catholic tradition of carnival combined pagan celebrations on the occasion of the spring meeting and the preparation for lent.
In contrast to the Russian cheese of the week, also known as Shrove Tuesday, the Catholic carnival are more widespread geographically. Along with the colonization of the tradition has spread worldwide and was adapted to local customs and mores. But the main feature of the carnival favourite costume has been preserved everywhere. This tradition change and play different roles appeared in the Ancient Rome once a year, for 5 days, the owners and the slaves become equal. All gathered together for one holiday table, and to get rid of the social prejudices of everyday life, faces hid behind masks. This tradition still is a main feature of carnival in Venice .
